If the we is not only us, but includes as well the densest pieces of creation, once all spirit but now fused together with the only freedom left observing the rest of us?
As regards the crucifixion I regard it as a great act of ritual sacrificial magic done by God with a multifaceted effect. Utterly primal, not primitive as some people regard the Blood of Jesus..

Probably too simple and childlike for some, when I examine my faith essentially I see Jesus the Lamb of God and Lion of the Tribe of Judah as a grand version of the helpful totemic spirit animal of a Dakota Indian, Jesus who gives us the Holy Spirit and reveals the Father. Works for me and has been very real over the decades.
